Fill alerts and sounds

A toast when an order fills, and a chime if you want one. Alerts follow you around the workspace so you do not have to sit on one tab waiting.

What triggers an alert

Quanify raises an alert when a position on one of your accounts opens, changes or closes — an entry, a scale, or an exit. The toast says what happened and on which account.

Two behaviours are worth knowing so nothing surprises you:

  • The first look is never announced. Opening the workspace while you are already holding positions does not fire a burst of alerts for trades that happened hours ago. Only changes from that point on are announced.
  • A burst is one alert. When a single move lands across several accounts at once, you get one chime, not one per account. Two followers on the same trader never double up.

Turning them on

Alerts are off until you turn them on, and the two halves are separate switches.

  • Toasts follow the notifications setting in Settings.
  • Sound is the speaker icon in the top bar, or the order-fill sounds switch in Settings. They are the same switch shown in two places, so flipping either one moves both.

Choosing a sound

The Settings notifications panel lists the available alert sounds. Two controls per row, and they are deliberately separate:

  • The small play button previews a clip.
  • Selecting a clip is silent.

That separation is on purpose — working down the list to compare clips should not turn into a barrage of chimes. Preview as much as you like, then pick.

Only the one clip you have selected is ever downloaded, and it is loaded once and reused, so leaving sound switched on costs nothing while nothing is filling.

Volume

Alert volume is set by clicking a level rather than dragging a slider, and the clip plays back at that level as you click it. You hear the difference while you are choosing instead of finding out during the next fill.

Which fills make a sound

The chime is aimed at fills on accounts you have routed a strategy to — the ones you are not sitting and watching. If Quanify cannot tell whether an account is routed, it errs toward alerting you rather than staying quiet.

Alerts never change what trades

This is the important one. Notifications control the toasts and the chime and nothing else. Turning them off does not stop anything from trading, and turning them on does not arm anything. They are a read-out, exactly like the dashboard is.

Equally, do not treat silence as confirmation. If you want to know what a signal did, open the Signal Log on Control Center; if you want to know what you are holding, open Account Manager. An alert you did not hear is not evidence that nothing happened.

Alerts follow you

Alerts are raised at the workspace level rather than inside one tab, so you get them while you are reading the journal, building a portfolio or sitting on Settings. You do not have to keep Control Center open.

If you have the workspace open in more than one browser tab, each one is its own workspace and will raise its own alerts.

Quiet hours and email

The Settings panel also shows cards for email notifications and quiet hours. Both are marked Coming soon and are not wired up yet — nothing will be emailed to you, and no schedule is being applied to your alerts. Native operating-system notifications are not part of the product today either; alerts appear inside the workspace.

If you are not getting alerts

  • Check the notifications switch in Settings for toasts and the top-bar speaker for sound.
  • Confirm you have actually selected a sound. The switch being on with no clip chosen means no chime.
  • Check your browser or system volume, and whether the browser has muted the tab.
  • Remember the first snapshot is never announced — a fill that happened before you opened the workspace will not chime.
